PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PROJECT / EXHIBITION
GENERAL
•All work must be exhibited within half a mile of Deptford Train station, see map in left hand column below.
•Installation is the responsibility of the artist. Work must be installed by Wednesday 25 July 2012
•Selected works must be available for viewing by the general public during Deptford X, 27 July to 12 August. Please note that the main times for Deptford X are Wednesdays to Sundays, 12noon to 6pm. However you can submit work outside of these times as long as falls within the festival period.
•All work must be original and submitted by the artist who made it or by the gallery / studio curators. Copyright resides with the artist. Protection of rights is the responsibility of submitting artists and Deptford X will take no part in its protection.
•Submissions can be made by completing the online form on the Deptford X website, or by downloading the application from the website and sending it via email. We do not accept postal applications.
•We are unable to acknowledge receipt of all submissions received
•Deptford X will not pay fees for proposal submissions.
EXCLUSIONS
•Members of the Deptford X Board of Trustees and Deptford X staff and their relatives are not eligible to receive any payment for taking part in the programme.
•No work will be accepted that promotes discrimination of any description.
•No work will be accepted which promotes commercial activities.
AWARD
• There will be one award of £500 for the best of the Deptford X Fringe, as selected by the Deptford X panel. The panel’s decision is final.
CONDITIONS
Artists / groups selected for the Deptford X Fringe will need to:
1.Secure a venue within the designated area to exhibit their work
2.Be responsible for the installation and removal of work
3.Provide insurance for the work and venue
4.Indemnify Deptford X against any loss or damage to work, or any injury caused to members of the public
5.Be responsible for invigilation and ensuring all work is safe and secure
6.Compete any licenses or permissions required by Deptford X, or other parties, such as temporary event notices.
7.Enter into a contract with Deptford X
8.Ensure the work is well presented
9.Ensure the work reflects the lead artist statement (see www.deptfordx.org)
10.Complete the monitoring and evaluation form
• Any person / group making a submission to the Deptford X Fringe automatically consents to having their work exhibited and having any information provided used for promotional purposes associated with Deptford X.
•Deptford X will not promote single shows, however Deptford X will list all selected projects on the website and in the brochure.
•Deptford X will provide each selected artist / project a page on the Deptford X website (it will be monitored and populated by Deptford X staff)
•All selected artists / organisations must be available to talk to the Deptford X Press and Media Partners if required.
•Deptford X cannot guarantee audiences / external publicity for any work selected for Deptford X
